Hud Hastings is a resident of Craggy Island who is a farmer. He is a friend of fellow farmer Giant Reid.
Biography[]
He is notable for his involvement in an attempt to rig the island's "King of the Sheep" competition, along with accomplice Giant Reid.
The plan was to intimidate competition favourite Chris by tormenting him with talk of a beast roaming Craggy Island, backing up their claims with "Terrible Monster Type A" from a BBC sound effects record.
Their efforts threw Chris off his game and the sheep began burping and became miserable.
The competition would have been lost had Ted Crilly not nursed the sheep back to health using, among other things, a sensory deprivation tank.
